An Ibarapa-born and a dedicated member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Barrister Opeyemi Tijani (BOT), has poured forth effusive praise and congratulations to Oloye Ismail Akinade Fijabi and Oloye (Sen.) Teslim Kolawole Folarin on their momentous chieftaincy elevations, conferred today by the throne of Ibadanland.
In a historic ceremony radiating with cultural gravity and tradition, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1, presided over the elevation of Oloye Ismail Akinade Fijabi was rightfully elevated from the prestigious rank of Ẹkẹfa Olubadan to the revered and influential title of Maye Olubadan. Concurrently, Oloye (Sen.) Teslim Kolawole Folarin was elevated from the rank of Alaasa Olubadan to the distinguished chieftaincy of Agbaakin Olubadan.

In his congratulatory message, Barrister Tijani described the elevations as a “masterstroke of royal wisdom and a testament to the unwavering dedication of these illustrious sons of Ibadan.” He noted that the new titles are not merely honors, but sacred responsibilities that affirm their lifelong commitment to the progress and welfare of Ibadanland.
“The ascension of Oloye Fijabi to the revered stool of Maye and Oloye Folarin to the formidable position of Agbaakin is a development that gladdens the heart of every progressive mind in Oyo State,” Barrister Tijani stated. “These elevations by our highly revered Kabiyesi, Oba Ladoja, are a recognition of their immense contributions, steadfast loyalty, and the profound respect they command within the community. It is a call to higher service, and I have no doubt that they will bring their wealth of experience, wisdom, and passion to bear in these new roles.”
Barrister Tijani further emphasized that such recognitions strengthen the fabric of the traditional institution, bridging the gap between timeless heritage and modern governance. He prayed for the newly elevated chiefs, asking God to grant them the wisdom and strength to excel in their new capacities and continue to be pillars of support for the Olubadan throne.
This celebration marks a significant chapter in the rich history of the Ibadan chieftaincy system, and Barrister Tijani joins a chorus of well-wishers across the state and beyond in celebrating this auspicious occasion.
