A prominent Ibarapa-born and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Barrister Opeyemi Tijani (BOT), has today paid a glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on the occasion of his 76th posthumous birthday.
In a heartfelt statement released at Senator Abiola Ajimobi Resource Centre, Institute for Peace & Strategic Studies (IPSS), University of Ibadan, Barrister Tijani reflected on the enduring legacy of Senator Ajimobi, describing him as an architect of modern Oyo State and a titan of progressive politics whose visionary leadership continues to inspire.
“Today, we remember not just a leader, but a transformative force. Senator Abiola Ajimobi was a man of courage, conviction, and unparalleled developmental zeal,” Barrister Tijani stated. “He dared to redefine governance in Oyo State, leaving behind a legacy of infrastructural renaissance, urban renewal, and political astuteness that remains a benchmark for leadership.”
The legal practitioner and APC stalwart highlighted Ajimobi’s unique attributes, which he said are sorely missed in the current political landscape. “His forthrightness, his commitment to the rule of law, and his unwavering dedication to the progressive ideals of our great party, the APC, set him apart. As we mark what would have been his 76th birthday, we are reminded that true leadership is timeless. His ‘KOSELERI’ legacy of securing Oyo State and his infrastructural masterpieces speak louder than words.”
Barrister Tijani, who is known for his active engagement within the party’s legal and political frameworks, called on current and aspiring leaders to draw lessons from Ajimobi’s commitment to service and development.
