In a significant move to uplift educational standards and ease the financial burden on parents, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, today commenced the distribution of essential learning materials to three secondary schools across the constituency.

The initiative, facilitated through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), targets Okedere High School, Idere; Tapa Community High School, Tapa; and Oke-Ako High School, Igangan. The distribution, which runs from October 28th to 29th, 2025, delivers a range of critical supplies, including classroom furniture, customized school bags, biros, and thousands of notebooks.

Hon. Adepoju stated that the beneficiary schools were selected based on a thorough needs assessment conducted by his team in the previous year, which identified a pressing need for support in these institutions.

“This facilitation is a direct response to the clear needs we identified on the ground,” said Hon. Adepoju. “It is part of my unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Ibarapa and supporting our children’s future. Furthermore, this effort is designed to complement the brilliant and transformative work of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose policies have dramatically reduced the number of out-of-school children in Oyo State.”

The lawmaker, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, urged the school authorities and students to make judicious use of the materials to ensure their long-term benefit.

While thanking UBEC for its partnership, Hon. Adepoju also reassured constituents of his upcoming broader educational program. “This is just one part of our ongoing intervention. Instructional materials for every single public secondary school student in our federal constituency are pending and will be distributed soon, following the completion of necessary documentation,” he added.
