More than 6,232,673 Nigerians completed the online phase of the Continuous Voter Registration between September 22 and 28, 2025, says the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Women constituted 52.15 % of registrants (3,250,338), while men made up 47.85 % (2,982,335).
Youth (age 18–34) dominated the turnout, accounting for 4,230,715 registrations in this window.

In geographic terms, Borno State led the pack with 682,805 pre-registrations, followed by Osun (599,363) and Lagos (555,442).
States like Kebbi (472,662), Ogun (450,897), and Kaduna (376,054) also featured prominently in the rankings.
The data, published by INEC underscores widening participation across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. Performance in Weeks Five and Six suggests growing confidence in the online platform, even as the commission simultaneously processes physical registrations.
As Nigeria edges closer to its next electoral season, INEC’s online surge signals a promising shift in voter engagement but the spotlight now turns to whether this interest translates into full accreditation and turnout.
