Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant position of Director of Works and Services
ADESEUN OGUNDOYIN POLYTECHNIC, ERUWA (AOPE), previously a satellite Campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan since 1981, became an autonomous Institution in 2014. It runs recognized National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in twenty (20) Academic Departments across Four (04) Faculties.
DIRECTOR OF WORKS AND SERVICES
The Director of Works and Services Department is the Chief Supervising Officer of the Department and he/she is directly responsible to the Rector in the performance of the following specific schedules, among others:
(a) Formulation of divisional strategies to achieve institutional goals
(b) Planning and controlling the technical activities of the Works and Services Department
(c) Advising the Rector on the acquisition, operation and maintenance of all Institution’s assets
(d) Preparation of the Works and Services Department budget and exercising budget control
(e) Keeping an inventory of all Institution’s vehicles and has the responsibility of their maintenance, security and up-keep
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES
The candidate for this post must possess:
i. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field from a reputable Institution. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage;
ii. Attained the rank of a Deputy Director or equivalent rank in Tertiary Institution with at least 15 years of post-qualification experience;
iii. Proven experience in project management, particularly in educational Institutions;
Membership of relevant professional bodies such as COREN, NSE, or NIA;
iv. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills alongside ICT compliance;
v. Possess a NYSC Discharged/Exemption Certificate;
vi. Minimum of 5 years as a Deputy Director (or equivalent rank) and above;
vii. Must not be more than Fifty-Nine (59) years of age as at the time of assumption of office for a term of 5 years;
viii. Person who is not likely to pursue racial, ethnic, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest;
ix. Morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND CONDITION OF SERVICE
The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years in line with extant provisions. The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy any other benefits attached to the position of a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic as approved by Oyo State Government.

A statement of own vision for the Polytechnic (20) copies (to include a template for having an all inclusive approach for works and maintenance services in a Tertiary Institution like Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa. An improved master plan for the Institution and repositioning the Works and Services Unit as an IGR unit for the Polytechnic).
xvi. Other activities outside current employment.
xvii.
